Full Stack Engineer (Angular/.NET)

We're looking for a Full Stack Engineer (Angular/.NET) in Christchurch, New Zealand.

NV Play is the operating system of cricket. For 20 years our software has run match day for the biggest names in the game, from the England and Wales Cricket Board, the ICC, and Cricket Ireland to the Mumbai Indians, Cricket New South Wales, and Surrey at the Kia Oval. Now we're taking our elite software to every level of cricket, worldwide.

Taking NV Play to every level of the game means a club, school, or league anywhere in the world should be able to find us, sign up, choose a plan, and get going on their own – all on whatever device they have on hand. You'll help them do it.

The role

  • You'll work on sign-up and onboarding, plans and subscriptions, account management, and the public match centres and widgets fans use to follow the game.
  • This is a full-stack role with a front-end emphasis. You'll turn Figma designs into fast, accessible Angular interfaces on our design system, working as well on a phone at the ground as on a laptop, and you'll build the C# and .NET APIs behind them.
  • You'll report to our Engineering Manager and work directly with our Head of Product and designers to shape requirements (not just receive them).
  • This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to see the direct line between what they build and whether people sign up, stay, and play.

What you'll work on

  • Self-service sign-up, onboarding, plans, and subscriptions.
  • Account management, and the admin tools that support it.
  • Public match centres and widgets that fans follow ball by ball.
  • Our design system and shared component library, kept in step with Figma.

What you'll do

  • Build responsive, accessible Angular and TypeScript interfaces from Figma designs.
  • Build the C# and .NET APIs behind customer-facing features.
  • Look after our shared component library and design system.
  • Build purchase and subscription flows that are easy to finish.
  • Keep public pages fast, accessible, and easy to find in search.
  • Work with Product and Design from discovery through to release.
  • Use AI coding tools as part of how you work every day, and check what they produce before it ships.
  • Take your turn on support triage (you build it, you run it).

You'll bring

  • 4+ years' commercial software development, shipping, and supporting production systems.
  • Strong Angular and TypeScript, with solid HTML and CSS.
  • C# and .NET on the server side, and experience designing and consuming APIs.
  • A track record of accessible, responsive interfaces built from design files (ideally Figma) that work as well on a phone as on a desktop.
  • Some experience with SQL Server and Azure.
  • Daily use of AI coding tools, and the healthy scepticism to check their work before it ships.
  • Automated testing, Git and pull request workflows.
  • A product mindset: you care whether a feature actually gets used, not just whether it ships.
  • A deep passion for (or at least a sound understanding of) the game of cricket.
  • An organised approach to work, life, and getting sh*t done.
  • An eye for detail. If your friends call you pedantic, you should talk to us.

Bonus points

  • Vue.js.
  • Payments and subscription billing.
  • Automated browser testing.
  • Contributing to a design system.
  • Product analytics and SEO.

Why NV Play

  • At NV Play, cricket is the job. So if you love the game, you get to live it here. You’ll spend your days building software used by international teams, county and state sides, schools, and the club down the road.
  • You’ll see your work live on match day. The scorecards, streams and stats fans follow ball by ball – you’ll have built them all.
  • We’re a great team. We’re small, senior, and straight up. We play as a team, win as a team and never lose our sense of humour along the way.
  • We have our own private bar. Because some problems are best solved over a cold one after stumps.
  • We’ve spent twenty years at the top of elite cricket, and now we’re going global. There's plenty of room for good people to help us shape what comes next.
