There are few bigger days in recreational cricket than a trip to Lord’s.
For the finalists of the 2026 Cawston Press Village Cup, that journey ended at the Home of Cricket, with Nottinghamshire’s Cuckney Cricket Club lifting the trophy after a five-wicket victory over Surrey’s Blackheath Cricket Club. Blackheath posted 186 all out, before Cuckney chased down the target to claim the title.
For NV Play, the final was another opportunity to bring professional-grade cricket technology to one of the biggest occasions in the recreational game.
The pro solution at the Home of Cricket.
Lord’s is a special place to play. So when matches are hosted there, the technology supporting them needs to be up to the same standard. That’s where NV Play comes in.
NV Play is the chosen technology partner for Lord’s for a range of matches hosted at the ground and across Lord’s-controlled outgrounds, including MCC Secretary’s games and junior boys’ and girls’ fixtures. We’re part of the infrastructure behind these matches throughout the season – providing the technology that keeps scoring, streaming and match information connected. So when the Village Cup Final arrived at Lord’s, NV Play was there too.
A single connected cricket system.
For the Village Cup Final, NV Play provided the technology behind three essential parts of the match-day experience: live streaming, live scoring and the Online Match Centre.
The match was streamed live, giving supporters who couldn’t make it to Lord’s a way to follow the action from wherever they were. Behind the stream, the match was scored live through NV Play, with the scoring data feeding through to the Online Match Centre in real time.
That means the score, wickets, player performances and match information all stayed connected as the game unfolded.
It’s the same principle that sits behind NV Play across professional and recreational cricket: one integrated platform, rather than a collection of disconnected systems. Everything talking to each other in real time.
Pro technology for the biggest days in club cricket.
The Village Cup is all about clubs from across the country, battling their way through a national competition for the chance to play at Lord’s. NV Play is about making the day count.
For players, that means capturing and recording their performance for improvement (and for posterity). For supporters, it means being able to watch the match live and follow the score from anywhere. For clubs and competitions, it means delivering a match-day experience that looks and feels worthy of the occasion.
And that’s exactly what NV Play is built to do.
