Naavya Sharma was already a player to watch. But now it's official.
On 3rd November, the 21-year-old Middlesex and England Lions fast bowler was named the 2026 NV Play Young Cricketer of the Year at the Cricket Media Club (CMC) Awards, recognising a standout season and a big future in the game.
The NV Play team was there to celebrate at the awards in London, joining some of cricket's biggest names to recognise the people making their mark on the sport. And Naavya has certainly done that.
He's been instrumental in Middlesex's Metro Bank One-Day Cup success, while an impressive 35 wickets in just nine County Championship matches earned him plenty of attention. He's also represented England Lions, adding another milestone to an already impressive career.
It's no small achievement. The CMC Young Cricketer of the Year award has been running since 1950, with previous winners including Geoffrey Boycott, Ian Botham, James Anderson, Joe Root and Ben Stokes. Great company to be in.
Backing cricket's next generation.
At NV Play, we're big believers in what the next generation can bring to cricket. But developing future stars takes the right opportunities, the right support, and the right tools to help enhance player performance.
That's why we're proud to work with organisations like the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), helping support the development of young players across the country.
The NV Play platform is used throughout the ECB's regional pathways, giving coaches, scouts and analysts access to the match footage and performance data they need to spot talent, track progress, and help players take the next step.
That same technology is in use at the Bunbury Festival, one of the most established events on the English youth cricket calendar, where some of the country's best under-15 players come together to compete, learn, and put their skills to the test.
NV Play brings professional-level scoring, cricket live streaming and performance analysis to the festival, giving young players access to the same technology used across the professional game – while making it easier for families and supporters to follow the action.
Better technology. More opportunities. Brighter futures.
From grassroots clubs and schools to the international stage, we're working to make great cricket technology accessible to more of the game. Because the next generation deserves the best tools to develop their talent, make their mark, and take cricket forward.
Congratulations to Naavya on a brilliant achievement. We can't wait to see what comes next.
